Los Tiburones de San Juan representan con orgullo la fuerza, el orgullo y el espíritu internacional tanto de San Juan como de Puerto Rico, dejando su huella dentro y fuera de la piscina. Como miembros de la Liga Superior de Waterpolo de Puerto Rico (WPS) —la principal competencia profesional de waterpolo en la isla— los Tiburones demuestran un alto nivel de atletismo, resiliencia y un profundo compromiso con su comunidad.
La franquicia tiene sus raíces en Ponce, donde fue fundada originalmente como los Leones. Posteriormente, el equipo se trasladó a San Juan, adoptando el nombre de Orcas, antes de convertirse en los Tiburones, nombre que refleja el carácter audaz, adaptable y ferozmente competitivo del equipo y de la ciudad que representan.
Los Tiburones operan como una organización sin fines de lucro, dedicada a la innovación en eventos en vivo, medios y experiencias dirigidas al consumidor. En el corazón de su portafolio se encuentra la marca San Juan Tiburones: un equipo profesional de waterpolo humilde, trabajador y de espíritu libre que representa con orgullo a Puerto Rico a nivel nacional e internacional.

The Tiburones de San Juan proudly embody the strength, pride, and international spirit of both San Juan and Puerto Rico, making their mark in and out of the pool. As members of the Water Polo Superior League of Puerto Rico (WPS)—the island’s premier professional water polo competition—the Tiburones showcase elite athleticism, resilience, and a deep commitment to their community.
The franchise’s roots trace back to Ponce, where it was originally founded as the Liones. The team later moved to San Juan, becoming the Orcas, before adopting its current identity as the Tiburones, a name that reflects the bold, adaptive, and fiercely competitive nature of the team and its city.
